How to recover your Yahoo email account if its hacked

Secure Your privacy
Online security is something to be taken more seriously with the speedy growth of the e-society (world wide web). As business begin to link offline activities to online and as human relations begin to extend to the electronic powered space, staying safe must not be compromised. One important medium of communication, personal and business, remains the email. For one, it is fast and eliminates the use of papers.

But with the popularity in the use of email services like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail etc, hackers and other elements interested in stealing information from unsuspecting users have began compromising the privacy of online users. Have you ever experienced difficulty in accessing your mail account? Today I am happy to teach you (or refresh your memory if you already know) how to regain control of your email account if your either experienced a compromise or simply forgot your password.

Using yahoo as an example, to regain access to your account simply go to the yahoo login page as shown and click on the "I cannot access my account" link circled with red in the image. Follow the instructions to reset your account. This comes in handy if you keep having the yahoo captcha verification erasing your login input.

But make sure you already have an alternate email address where the reset info will be sent. You can add one if you already have a yahoo account. The process of resetting passwords is similar for accounts created with different online services, but with some differences in steps or processes. The essence of having an alternate email address is for your reset instruction to be sent there if your account has been hacked (compromised).

To also save yourself lots of headache you can set your yahoo mail account to forward a copy of all received mails to your alternate account pending when access to yahoo is regained. For that I use Gmail. Its been a reliable email service for me. But I still forward my email copies to yahoo as well. Just in case I run into problem and cant wait to access some important mails, if it takes time to get my account reopened as Gmail requires you to undergo strict identity verification these days just to ensure online security.

I hope this helps. Was this post interesting or useful? Why don’t you do me a favour, by sharing with those that matter to you – friends, colleagues and family – either by re-twitting this post or page URLhttp://hotgrid.blogspot.com/ or Da-Hotgrid on Twitter or sharing oFacebook
